I suffered from significant allergies in the past but, about a year ago I heard about Allermi nasal spray. I've been on it for almost a year and am doing great! I used to be dependent on Vicks Sinex and Afrin but, no longer. Allermi spray has been amazing and I now only need to use it as needed. I hope this info helps. Best wishes!

I take Xyzal every night. It worked better than any of the others I take.

I take Zyrtec (cetirizine) and it works well for me. Please be aware it can cause particularly bad rebound/"withdrawals" IF you're on it for a while. I found out the hard way -- learn from my bad choice!! (ie cycle on and off by taking it only during allergies season, and make sure you taper off).

Also, that while effective, some antihistamines are anticolonergic... and can cause severe fuzziness and brain fog. If you choose to use Benadryl or some of the older antihistamines just know what you are possibly getting into.

Benadryl especially is well known to cause fuzziness and drowsiness... In fact sometimes Benadryl is used because of its side effects, and not for it's antihistamine action.
