I have been battling with severe lymphedema for months now and feel like I'm getting the run around with physicians in my area. I was hospitalized for 5 days and had surgery which I thought would reduce the swelling, but I'm no better off now than I was in June when I went in the hospital. I've been out of work since, and I'm waiting on a MRL test to see why my lymphatic system isn't draining properly. Been a really rough few months. If anyone has had the same issue and knows of a good… read more

I had the first major surgery in March. It was a rough recovery in the beginning, but after about 2 months doing day to day activities became more tolerable. I am currently back to work now, but have my next surgery scheduled for July 7th. I was told by my plastic surgeon that this surgery will be less evasive as the last one, but I will still be out of work for a couple of months or more depending on how the healing goes. Wound care is very important for a quick recovery.

It's been a long road, but I am starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

I saw two plastic surgeons and now I'm scheduled for a MRL exam which explores the lymphatic system and then the physician will do a bypass surgery to let the lymphatic fluid go to other areas of the body. Problem is the test could take months to get and I'm really running out of patience. 2020 has been an awful year for me.
